For my second water color painting I painted a savanna landscape with tall grass, some trees, and mountains in the background. I used space in this painting by making the mountains darker in the background to make the painting seem more realistic and have depth. I also used a neutral color scheme by putting in the colors tan, green, blue, brown, and brownish-yellow. Another element of design I used in this landscape painting is that the texture of the paining is smooth because I used soft strokes with my paint brush while painting this landscape. I feel I used good emphasis in this painting. I used good emphasis in the grass of the savanna because I painted strokes with the back of my paintbrush by using a tan and brownish-tan color to draw the viewers attention and make it look more realistic. One thing I felt I could've done better was making there be better unity with the trees and grass. I could've worked on using better unity with the trees and grass by making the tree trunk seem like it's implanted into the ground instead of putting it on top of the grass which looks odd and doesn't show good unity.
