For my first oil pastel drawing I drew a blue mountain surrounded by water. I used the color blue in every part of the drawing to make a cool color scheme. Also, I used value in the sky by going from a darker blue at the top then gradually making the blue lighter as it got closer to the top of the mountain. One thing I could improve on is making the texture of the mountain look more rough which would have made it more realistic. I feel like I did a good job creating unity in my landscape by making the mountain, sky, and water all work/fit together by using different shades of blue and making it look like you're looking out and seeing this in real life. Another reason I feel that I did well on in this landscape is that I created contrasting color at the peak of the mountain which stands out in the painting and draws the viewers eyes towards it to make it feel more realistic.
